Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB) is a common form of irregular heartbeat and a leading cause of stroke
Approximately 20% of all strokes are caused by AFIB and around a million people in the UK suffer with the condition
Treatment can reduce the risk of stroke by 67% in those over 65 years
The Advanced Blood Pressure Monitor with Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB) Alert is able to accurately detect AFIB
Before taking a measurement, you need to be relaxed and comfortably seated at a comfortable temperature
No bathing, drinking, smoking, exercising or eating for 60 minutes before taking a measurement
The cuff supplied with the device covers an arm size range of 22-42cm
If the measurement result is extremely high (or low), remove any clothing interfering with the arm cuff, re-apply the arm cuff a little tighter and ensure there are no other electrical devices within 30cm of the blood pressure monitor
If the arm cuff pressure does not rise, make sure the air tube is connected securely
If the arm cuff deflates too soon, re-apply the arm cuff so it is firmly wrapped around the arm
