Good to know

  • Plant seeds in a prepared seed bed from March to July.
  • Sow seeds thinly in rows 25cm apart.
  • Cover seeds with 1.5cm of fine soil and firm gently.
  • Keep the soil moist; seedlings appear 7-14 days after planting.
  • For continuous crops, sow every 2-3 weeks.
  • For cut and come again baby leaves, no further thinning is required.
  • For mature plants, thin to 15cm apart.
  • Keep plants moist and weed-free.
  • Protect early sowings with cloches.
