  • Plum and apricot hybrid originating in California in late 19th century
  • Cross pollinated further in 1980s
  • Flavorking variety best of all
  • Flavour reminiscent of bubblegum and pear drop
  • Dark purple skin with deep bold red interior flesh
  • Harvested and sold as Flavorking only if sugar levels (sweetness) at certain level
  • Mainly used as snacking fruit
  • Can also be used in sweet and savoury dishes
  • Best when brought up to room temperature before eating
